Bought this cooktop when we remodeled our kitchen 4 yrs ago. We put in all Kitchenaid appliances, and this is the only one I do not like. In the first 6 mos., a SMALL salt shaker fell out of the cabinet and broke a big chunk out of the side of it. I hate the warming burner on the front left side and never use it. On the other hand, the heating consistency of the large quick-heat burner directly opposite the warming burner is terrible. I am always having things boil over on this burner regardless how low the temperature is. I would not recommend this item nor would I purchase it again.

Do yourself a favor, and keep looking for a cooktop that’s far more durable. We purchased this cooktop to replace an old JennAir cooktop we used for 15 years. We noticed several reviews mentioning how easily the glass surface is marked after use but found others that mentioned nothing except it’s great cooking qualities. Based on that, we took a chance. That was a mistake! You have to carefully inspect the glass cooktop after every use to check for damage and marks on the glass. It takes a lot of elbow grease and cleaner to get it up. We’re ultra careful about keeping pots and pans perfectly clean on the bottom, cleaning up spills, etc but to no avail. We still end up with something on the glass that has to be cleaned off. Our JennAir was never this sensitive or susceptible to damage. KitchenAid makes a lot of good appliances, but this one isn’t one of them.
