Loved this microwave while it worked...but it quit working before it was even 2 years old! Not under warranty according to appliance dealer, told us to call Kitchen Aid about the megatron (which according to others’ reviews, this is apparently a known issue). My husband spend 45 minutes on & off hold with lady checking with her manager only to get HUNG UP ON! We have tried calling back dozens of additional times to Kitchen Aid/Whirlpool to see if they will cover it and to discuss, only to sit on hold forever and no one ever answers the call. Soo disappointed with this purchase and the fact that we have a kitchen-full of Kitchen Aid products, but am completely unable to get anyone to even answer the phone! Do I have too high of expectations, thinking that a $500 microwave from a high-quality appliance manufacturer should last longer than 2 years?? Now we just have this empty space for a cookie jar I guess......

I had this Microwave for 5 years and it developed a hole in the back so I replaced it with the same microwave and hope it lasts longer than 5 years as it is a bit pricey.

I never realized there was such a big difference in microwaves, until I purchased my new KitchenAid for our new home. So glad that we chose all KitchenAid appliances. Couldn't be happier!!
