Jenn-Air Euro-Style 36" Pyramid Style Canopy Wall Hood

Has great looks, and a great fan. Easy to use too.

We bought this before our remodel, about a 1-1/2 years before we were actually able to install it. Jenn-Air was gracious enough to extend the warranty after a phone call request. Kitchen remodels always take longer than expected, our job was no different in that regard. We looked at appliances for 3 months before deciding on all of them. This Jenn-Air model was brand new, I found it online at the Jenn-air site first and then asked our rep about it. What drew me to it was several features I was impressed with. First, most of the hoods we saw in stores had halogen lights, which are hot, and not efficient. Our previous Vent-A-Hood had halogens, would burn your hand if you accidentally bumped them. Also, the Auto Sense is a nice feature as well as the easy access filters. The LEDs, of which there are two sets, one pair are located in the front of the hood and shine down on the cook top, the other are along the outside left and right edge of the top of the hood and project upward to highlight the tiles above the hood on the wall. This is a beautiful feature, and we use it every night as a night light and for accent lighting in general.. What a great idea!! this was the only hood I found with the feature. Now the two LEDs that face down on the cook top are barely adequate, and do not light light the cook surface enough in my opinion. They should have had four down lights, not just two, and it could have easily been done, an oversight I think. Anyway, I fixed the problem by designing the back splash with a recessed area behind the cook top that I was able to install an LED strip light that is controlled on the same circuit as our other under cabinet lamps. The AutoSense works pretty well, but takes a bit to get to learn. Filters are easy to get to, and I love the flat bottom for cleaning. The buttons are hard to read because they are behind the blue glass, but you kind of get used to it. Less noise than our previous hood, no complaints in that regard.

The design is outstanding

This wall hood is so powerful, I've never even used the "high" setting. It is so quiet, I sometimes forget to turn it off. And, I love the fact that the light illuminates my entire cooktop and can be switched to illuminate upward for use as a nightlight.
