This Whirlpool cooktop came as part of my builders new home’s package. It LOOKS great - like a gourmet kitchen - but turns out that the cast iron grates are too high from the flame about 2-3inches. I tried contacting customer service to see if I could get replacement grates of lower profile. But they don’t manufacture a lower profile grate for this model. I am at a point where I wouldn’t mind trying lower profile grate from a different model failing which I’ll just have to buy a different brand that will actually enable me to cook.

I am happy with the cooktop however the knobs just like most people have previously stated have split into 2 parts. I’ve had a slow gas leak once because of this. Tried ordering the knobs on amazon but weren’t comparable. I haven’t been able to locate knobs anywhere else. I did contact whirlpool while under warranty and was told knobs aren’t covered.

I have owned this model for a little over 4 years and in that time the knobs that turn on and off the burners have split and cracked and broken 3 times. The most recent incident was today, 9/6/19. When this happens the burners cannot always be turned off completely which creates the risk of a gas leak. The inside of the knobs are of a poor quality plastic which, as mentioned, crack easily and often. Replacements are difficult to obtain. If you do decide on this model make sure you get the extended service plan offered by your vendor. Better yet, skip this model. I plan on replacing the entire unit as safety has been compromised and replacing it with a more substantial mode from a different manufacturer.

New construction home from Mertiage sold as upgraded Gourmet kitchen option, all of the letters are off and the knobs broken. I blamed the cleaning service and after reading the reviews I was terribly wrong and own them a huge apology. Where can I find replacement knobs that will last?
