Terrible product

I purchased this cook top two and a half years ago. This is the second cook top as the first one arrived and only two burners worked. A few months back while cooking two burners also blew. Kitchenaid agreed to pay for 50% of the part. The part is $650 not including the service. Just received a call from the service personnel and they will not even service the appliance if it isn't under warranty. He believes it will break again and he would be stuck with the cost. Kitchenaid will do nothing except to tell you they feel your frustration. $2400 for a product that doesn't work. That is frustration and the company could care less. Stay far away from this product and any Kitchenaid as they do not stand by the product themselves. I will never purchase another kitchenaid appliance.

This is our 2nd Kitchenaid Induction cooktop. We have always had gas stoves and liked that we could adjust the temperature so quickly but did not like how difficult it was to clean the cooktop. When we built our new house we decided to try a Kitchenaid 36" Induction cooktop and we loved it. It has the same ability to control the temperature as a gas stove and the glass cooktop is a breeze to clean. When we decided to move again we chose the 30" Induction Cooktop. It boils water so quickly, able to control the temperature and is easy to clean.

U was not too sure about getting an induction cooktop. Now that we have had it a while Iove it. It hearts things up so fast and cleaning up spills is a breeze. The only down side was having to get pots and pans that were magnetic.

Fire in electrical

Like all other KitchenAid products that we purchased for our reno, this is the last of the lot that has now failed and could have caused a house fire! Last night while cleaning up from dinner, a foul odor was smelled in the glass top. Smoke started to billow out from the underside of the cooktop. In order to stop the electrical fire, we had to shut the breaker off. There should have been a fuse installed to blow and not be allowed to continue to burn without having to shut the breaker off. Had it happened in the night, we may be talking a different outcome.
